White Sand Beaches on Cat Island
There are many relaxing beaches in Cat Island. The best part, it’s not loaded with tourists. There are a handful of small resorts, but it’s not a resort town feel. And there are a handful of cruisers walking the beaches. Apart from that, the beaches are low-key, beautiful, and quiet.
You can enjoy beaches on the western side – the “banks” side. Or you can walk/drive across the island to the ocean side. This is where the deep blue crystal water of the Atlantic crash ashore. There are reefs out from the beach, which break the waves. It’s not a violent setting, but it is more active than the banks side. But the sand is as white as it comes.
Diving Snorkeling in Cat Island
You can cross the island to the eastern shore for some amazing snorkeling and dive spots. Reefs and wrecks are settled in crystal waters.
And if you’re up for some simpler snorkeling in calmer waters, stay on the banks side of Cat Island. There are many coral heads that hold plants and animals. Just look for the deep dark spots in the water.Rewind 10sPlayForward 10s
